Grind and Seal
A concrete finish that works with the character of the slab. Narre Resin provides grind and seal services for homes and commercial spaces across Melbourne and regional Victoria.

What is grind and seal?
Grind and seal involves mechanically preparing the concrete surface and applying a surface sealer. The concrete remains part of the finished appearance, including the variation that makes each slab different.
This approach is distinct from mechanically polished concrete, where successive grinding and polishing stages refine the concrete itself. The two finishes can have a related visual character, but they are different flooring approaches.
Work with the concrete you have
The slab is central to the finished look. Aggregate, colour variation, repairs and existing marks can influence what is visible, so a reference photograph cannot establish exactly how another floor will appear.
When comparing options, consider whether you want to retain the natural appearance of concrete or introduce a resin finish. Epoxy, vinyl flake and metallic flooring offer alternative design directions when exposed concrete is not the look you are seeking.
Planning the right finish
Include the approximate area, the building location and the intended use of the space in your enquiry. Tell us whether the floor is new or existing and whether it has paint, adhesive or another coating on it.
Also share any visible damage, your preferred appearance and the timing of other building works. Preparation, sealer selection and maintenance expectations should be discussed for the particular project before deciding on a finish.
Planning your floor.
Is grind and seal the same as polished concrete?
No. Grind and seal uses a surface sealer after grinding, while mechanically polished concrete is refined through grinding and polishing. Ask which approach suits your floor and preferred appearance.
Will every concrete floor look the same?
No. Existing concrete varies. The condition and character of the slab influence the result, so discuss expectations for your particular floor.
